Urszula Rojek - Emerging Artist Feb 28 - May 1, 2026

Featured during our Rocks, Streams, and Dreams show from Feb 28 - May 1, 2026, Urszula Rojek is a painter and an emerging talent in Guelph.

Urszula was born in Poland and built her life with her husband and children in Guelph, where they have lived for more than thirty years. She holds two master’s degrees—one in microbiology and one in food science—and spent her career as a scientist, a path that trained her to observe the world with precision and curiosity.

After retiring, she devoted herself more fully to painting, working primarily in acrylic and oil. She studied painting with Scott Abbot, Grazyna Adamska‑Jarecka, Eleni Bakopoulos, and Jey Dorsey.

Travel remains one of her greatest joys, and many of her works are inspired by the places she has visited and the memories they hold. She seeks authentic connections with the landscapes she paints, drawing on both personal experience and emotional resonance. Her paintings are influenced by the legacy of the Group of Seven.

From Urszula:

“My work for Rocks, Streams and Dreams is shaped by the enduring legacy of the Group of Seven and their bold, colorful vision of the Canadian landscape. The places I encounter in my travels continue to fuel my palette and imagination. I strive to form an authentic connection with each landscape I paint, drawing on personal experience and emotional resonance to create images that are both powerful and deeply felt.”
