Upcoming Exhibition
Six artists come together to interpret one theme - The Space Between - yet even with six distinctly unique bodies of work, there is a common thread woven throughout them all: In the space between lies the opportunity for transformation, and a deep curiosity to step into the unknown.

Featured Artist for: The Space Between
Kate Rogers - In this 6-piece collection I boldly reclaim misunderstood or often undervalued labels as superpowers. Each piece is a testament to the resilience of spirit - based on pivotal moments in my life - and a celebration of the nuanced nature of our identities when we’re empowered to redefine what it means to be us.
It is in the space between what we’re told to believe, and what we choose to believe that holds infinite possibility of what can yet be. So, let yourself find the courage to sow the seeds of remembrance, redefine your narrative, and claim unshakable strength as you allow yourself to bloom into who you know you are. Soft, semi-opaque layers of paint mask messy beginnings in most pieces, offering a quiet place to land for introspection and rediscovery. Here, you can find solace in subtle imagery as you shed the weight of external expectations to embrace the gifts of your most true self. In other pieces, neon bursts of colour and bold text take a vibrant stand against those who dare try to keep us small. Website: www.katerogerscreations.com |
Collective Members:
Katherine Percival explores how our interaction with cameras influences our memories, drawing from her own experience of grief and reflection after losing her grandparents. Despite finding comfort in old photographs, she realizes that her most vivid memories are often triggered by emotions rather than captured moments. This led her to explore the intersection of memory and reality, using a mix of emotional colors and chaotic compositions to depict the contrast between lived experience and idealized memory, influenced by the prevalence of smartphones. Her focus on memories of camping along the Bruce Trail serves as a canvas for navigating this intricate interplay between reality and memory, forming the essence of her collection for this exhibition.
